Matthew Clark, part of the Matthew Clark Group, is an award-winning premium drinks supplier that offers its customers a range of 4,000 products including champagne, wine, spirits, beers and soft drinks. In 2007, the Matthew Clark Group was formed as a joint venture between Punch Taverns and Accolade Wines and has over 5,000 outlets. 

The Challenge

In recognition of the fact that an increasing number of its customers were becoming more IT savvy and embracing online technologies, Matthew Clark made a strategic decision to partner with iTradeNetwork as the IT specialist which could offer a cloud-based solution that would improve its e-commerce platform beyond recognition. The drinks supplier wanted to offer its customers bespoke online ordering solutions that would answer their specific and evolving needs. Matthew Clark therefore sought an online platform with flexibility and the capability to deliver cost efficiencies, 24/7 customer convenience and service excellence.

The Solution

Through iTradeNetwork’s online solution, Matthew Clark has been able to create various e-commerce ordering solutions for its different customer types, and improve the quality of its service, whilst strengthening its brand promise.

The bespoke solution that has been created is called ‘Matthew Clark Live’, an online ordering system that is being delivered across the drinks supplier’s range of customers. Recognising the wide variety of different types of customers that they have across the pub, restaurant and hotel sectors, in collaboration with iTradeNetwork, Mathew Clark has created 5 different types of portal. Online ordering services include The Market Place, Channel Portals, Multiple-site Co-branded Portals and Integrated Portals. By categorising them centrally and then pointing them to a portal which is most suitable for them each solution offers tailored functionality and an array of benefits. This also has the advantage that brand owners, suppliers and Matthew Clark can communicate to each outlet with the most relevant products and promotions.

The extensive functionality of iTradeNetwork’s platforms have proven to be key in the successful delivery of Matthew Clark’s online ordering solutions. It has enabled the drinks supplier to tailor its products, prices, offers and packages to reflect the exact needs of its customers, whether that’s an independent buyer or a multiple operator.
